Man arrested for killing mom, 2nd son on the run

Cuttack: Commissionerate police on Sunday arrested a man for killing his 78-year-old mother at Mahanadi Vihar in Cuttack.
Anima Mohanty, was hacked to death by her two sons on Saturday. Her younger son, Anurag Mohanty, is on the run and police have a launched a manhunt to nab him. The arrested son was identified as Anshuman Mohanty (42). Police said around 5:30 am, neighbours rushed to their house upon hearing screams and found the woman lying in a pool of blood.The neighbours immediately informed the police.
“The two sons were jobless for a long time and were dependent on their mother’s pension. An altercation broke out between the sons and the mother when the former sold several furniture and other household items to a local scrap vendor,” ADCP Anil Mishra said. TNN
