New Delhi: A 39-year-old man has been arrested by Crime Branch for allegedly murdering someone 15 years ago in Swaroop Nagar, Outer North Delhi.
According to DCP (Crime Branch) Satish Kumar, the incident took place on Feb 26, 2009. The complainant, Ishrar, and his friend Zuber were standing in front of Bhola Shankar Sweet Shop in Swaroop Nagar when the accused — Safijul, Ahmad, Juber, and Mehtab — approached Zuber, demanding money to buy alcohol.
When Zuber said he didn't have any money, the group began assaulting him. Ahmad, Juber, and Mehtab held Zuber down, while Safijul stabbed him. Zuber later died from his injuries in a hospital.
Ahmad Ali had been declared a "proclaimed offender" by the court and had managed to evade arrest by frequently changing cities and jobs. TNN
