New Delhi: Police have arrested a man for allegedly giving a provocative speech against a community in northeast Delhi's Shastri Park.
The accused was identified as Vikas, alias Bunty, a resident of the same area.
The incident happened around 10:19 pm at a temple. The complainant told cops that a provocative speech was delivered by Vikas from a temple's microphone.
He alleged that this speech was directed against a particular community. Footage capturing the demonstration was shared on various online platforms.
A PCR call was made about the incident, and a protest was also held in front of the police station against the speech. A complaint was filed, and an FIR lodged under BNS section 196 (promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc. and doing acts prejudicial to maintenance of harmony) against the accused, who was arrested on Tuesday.
