9L people's biometrics unfrozen in Assam
Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has unlocked the biometrics of over nine lakh people mistakenly frozen during National Register of Citizens (NRC) updating process in Assam in 2019, paving the way for the release of Aadhaar cards for 12,000 to 13,000 people in Tinsukia on Sept 23, reported. "So far five lakh Aadhaar cards have been generated," Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
