Indore: Police booked a man on Wednesday for allegedly raping a 26-year-old woman on the pretext of marriage.
Bhanwarkuan police station in-charge Rajkumar Yadav said 27-year-old resident of Lahar in Bhind, contacted the woman, a sales executive at a call centre, on a social networking site in Dec 2022. He proposed marriage and maintained contact with her while he moved to Indore for work.He allegedly coerced her into a physical relationship multiple times under the pretence of marriage.
On Aug 24, he visited Indore again, claiming he wanted to discuss marriage, when he insisted on resuming their physical relationship. When she demanded clarity regarding their future, he left and stopped answering her calls. She then lodged a complaint.TNN
