Sunshine raises daytime temperature by 4 notches
Indore: With no rainfall on Thursday, the city's daytime temperature rose by four degrees as the cloudy sky cleared, allowing the sun to shine through. The temperature climbed to 31.6 degrees Celsius, two degrees above normal, compared to Wednesday's 28.2 degrees Celsius.
The state meteorological department has forecasted dry weather conditions for the Indore and Ujjain divisions on Friday and Saturday.

As per the current weather conditions in the state, a deep depression is active over Saurashtra and Kutch, which may intensify into a cyclonic storm as it moves southwestward towards the coastal regions of Saurashtra, Kutch, and Pakistan. The monsoon trough is presently extended from the deep depression over Saurashtra and Kutch, passing through Udaipur, Shivpuri, Sidhi, Ambikapur, and Puri, towards the low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal in a southeastward direction. A low-pressure area is active over the northern Bay of Bengal due to the influence of cyclonic circulation over the central-eastern Bay of Bengal, which may intensify into a deep depression as it moves northwestward. An offshore trough is extended from southern Gujarat to the northern Kerala coast.
"Under the influence of these weather systems, rainfall activity is expected over Eastern and central MP while no rainfall activity is expected over Indore and Ujjain division for the next two days,” said Prakash Dhawale, Met scientist at IMD Bhopal circle.
From Sept 1, rainfall activity is expected to once again cover Indore and Ujjain division with chances of light to moderate rainfall at many places. On Sept 2, heavy rain is expected in Khargone, Dewas, Burhanpur, and Alirajpur.
This forecast follows a period of heavy to moderate rainfall last week. On Wednesday night, temperature in Indore reached 21.8 degrees, normal to seasonal average.
Despite the rising daytime
temperatures, the morning remained relatively cool, with the morning temperature recorded at 25.8 degrees Celsius.
As of Thursday, Indore city has received a total of 726.5 mm of rainfall this season. In Indore district, the total rainfall stands at 632.5 mm, reflecting a 7% deficit compared to the average of 679.7 mm.
