Mangaluru: Several modifications to its examination process have helped Mangalore University (MU) to announce the results of the sixth-semester undergraduate examinations in under 20 days after the completion of the exams.
Registrar (evaluation) H Devendrappa said this was possible due to some small changes in the entire process. The university is now gearing up to announce the results of the second and fourth-semester examinations that concluded in July.
On the new strategies implemented, Devendrappa said the official in charge of the examination made sure that all the materials, especially answer booklets, were collected from the colleges without any delay. “We had a tough time due to heavy rains, which delayed the process. Despite that, we were able to put in our best efforts and complete the sixth-semester evaluation and announcement of the results. The results were announced within three days of completing the evaluation and 17 days after the examination concluded.”
Also, this time MU has fully computerised the process of recording marks online at the evaluation centres. “The exercise taught us that some minor modifications in the process can speed up work,” said Devendrappa, adding that the sixth-semester evaluation was taken up on a priority basis to help graduates apply for jobs and higher education. Devendrappa said results of the second and fourth semesters will be announced by the second week of Sept.
