Shillong: On Teachers’ Day, Meghalaya govt handed out guidebooks for teachers.
The 63rd Teachers’ Day state-level function was held at U Soso Tham Auditorium in Meghalaya on Thursday. During the event, chief minister Conrad K Sangma launched the CM IMPACT program, which aims to address the issue of low pass percentages in the state’s SSLC exams.
The CM IMPACT initiative includes several key components, such as the free distribution of guidebooks for students, professional development support for teachers, additional guidebooks for teachers, targeted assistance for underperforming schools, parental involvement, and district-level oversight.
As part of this program, guidebooks were distributed free of cost to all Class 10 teachers, regardless of whether they were from private or government schools.
The chief minister and education minister Rakkam Sangma also launched the Curio Bee’s Learning Box, which contains teaching and learning materials for developing Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) skills for children between 3-9 years in classes nursery to 3.
