Meghalaya vows to be among cleanest states
Shillong: To strengthen voluntarism and collective action for Swachh Bharat and to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the state urban affairs department launched the ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ 2024 campaign here on Tuesday. It pledged to make Meghalaya one of the ‘cleanest’ states in the country.
The ‘Swachhata Hi Seva’ fortnight, on the theme ‘Swabhav Swachhata - Sanskaar Swachhata’ will continue till October 2.

Deputy CM Sniawbhalang Dhar, who is also in charge of urban affairs, stressed on the responsibility of each citizen in ensuring a clean environment and highlighted that the Swachh Bharat Mission, launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2014, is a crucial programme that requires public participation to succeed.

10th edition of Seva Setu launched
Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel launched the tenth edition of 'Seva Setu' in Gandhinagar. The special drive, running until October 31, includes various programmes across districts to aid beneficiaries of government schemes. Each taluka will have three events, while municipal corporations and municipalities will hold two each for on-the-spot assistance.
