CORONAVIRUS IN MUMBAI

There are 67 confirmed coronavirus cases in Maharashtra as of March 23. Maharashtra has reported the highest number of positive cases of coronavirus followed by Kerala. The state government has invoked the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 from March 13 all across Maharashtra. The government has also ordered the closure of educational institutions, theatres, malls, parks, swimming pools, gymnasiums etc to stop the spread of coronavirus. Mumbai Police invoked section 144 of the CrPC to prohibit tour operators from conducting any kind of group tours to foreign or domestic destinations till March 31. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in his address to the nation on March 19, called for 'Janata curfew' on March 22 from 7AM to 9PM to contain the spread of coronavirus.
