NEW DELHI: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (IP University) is considering a significant expansion, aiming to add approximately 1,100 seats across various campus schools and centres. The decision comes in response to the growing demand for seats in these institutions. Currently, there are about 3,300 seats available in different programs, and the university plans to increase this number to around 4,400 seats.
Vice Chancellor Padmashri Prof.
(Dr.) Mahesh Verma emphasized the need for this expansion, highlighting that the seats in campus schools and centres have not seen an increase in the last decade, unlike affiliated institutes.
In the University School of Information & Communication Technology, plans include doubling the seats for B. Tech programs, such as Computer Sciences, IT, and ECE. Additionally, two new programs, B. Tech (CSE) Artificial Intelligence and B. Tech (CSE) Data Science, are in the pipeline.
