Patrick Pass is a former fullback, an American football coach who formerly operated as director of football personnel development for the Massachusetts Pirates of the IFL until his indefinite suspension. He was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 2000
NFL draft after playing collegiate American football at Georgia. Pass was arrested in Rhode Island after allegedly assaulting an 82-year-old man in an argument over exercise equipment at Planet Fitness.
Pass is charged with assault on a person over 60 years old causing bodily injury. The incident happened on August 28 at a Planet Fitness gym in North Providence.

North Providence police reported a verbal altercation between Pass and an 82-year-old man, who was allegedly shoved and fell to the floor. Pass was arraigned in Rhode Island court and granted $10,000 personal recognizance bail. He was ordered not to have contact with the victim and is next due in court on January 8. During an interview with NBC 10, Pass has denied all the allegations.
“Look at me do you think I’m going to do that? Really, please, come on,” Pass told the outlet. “I have better things to do than try to assault someone.” According to NBC 10, he was charged with assault of a man over the age of 60 and causing bodily injury. The 82-year-old man, Juan Muriel, told NBC 10 that when he woke up “the next day, I can’t walk, I can’t lay down, I can’t do nothing” because of his injuries. “I felt like somebody pushed me for nothing,” the elderly man told the outlet. “I never touched him, nothing.”
Pass was drafted by the Patriots as a running back in the 2000 draft of the NFL. He began as a wide receiver, special teamer, and running back from the first start. In 2002, he was made a fullback and began for the 2004 team. With Corey Dillon injured, Pass gained 245 rushing yards in the 2005 season. However, he remained out for some time due to a hamstring injury. In 2006, the coach placed him on the Physically Unable to Perform list and limited him to only three games before placing him on injured reserve. Besides tight end, Pass also played as a kick returner and returned 36 kickoffs for 745 yards.
Passed for the Houston Texans with a signed contract before the 2007 season of the NFL started; however, the Texans released him on August 29, 2007. Pass was signed by the New York Giants on November 20, 2007; He played in one game before the Giants cut him on November 27, 2007. He came out for the 2008 season of the NFL and, finally, for the first time signed back with the Patriots on June 4, 2009. He was let go exactly one week later, on June 11, and retired from the NFL.
