Sangita Ghosh, currently captivating viewers as Saroj in the TV show Saajha Sindoor, is not only a talented actress but also a devoted daughter and mother. Having embraced motherhood a few years ago with the birth of her daughter, Sangita remains equally dedicated as a loving daughter to her own parents. On this
Daughter's Day, the actress has opened up about her close bond with her parents, sharing heartfelt reflections on their relationship and the values they’ve instilled in her throughout her life.
Speaking about her relationship with her parents, Sangita shared, “As a daughter, I feel that I'm more of a parent to them now than a daughter. I had a lovely childhood, teenage years, and growing-up years, although I was very busy because I started working at a young age. I come from a middle-class family, and while we weren’t very well off, my parents never made us feel like we were lacking anything. Everything was limited, but they conducted themselves with such grace and gave us so much happiness that we never felt deprived. We truly had a happy childhood."
She further added, "As we grow up, especially as daughters, we become like parents to them, looking after their needs—not just material but also emotional. Taking care of their emotional well-being is so important, and I’m very much my parents' daughter.”
Sangita, who plays Saroj, the stepmother to Gagan (played by Sahil Uppal) in Saajha Sindoor, also revealed how she had to make the tough decision to leave her own daughter behind to be part of the show. "There was a lot of back and forth, but it wasn’t just because the role was negative. There were many factors, like thinking about my daughter. I had to leave her in Jaipur and travel to Mumbai, so I wanted to ensure the role was truly worth it. I had immense trust in the team, which is why I ultimately decided to go ahead with it."
