Ajmer: Ajmer Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited will make Sikar district a solar city and till the end of March 1,000 houses will be linked with solar power by installing solar plants on rooftops. On Thursday, minister of state of urban development and self governance department Jhabar Singh Kharra inaugurated the awareness campaign in Sikar and said that it is the mission of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to provide electricity to every household under Suryodaya scheme.
Ajmer Discom managing director NS Nirwan said that this is a pilot project through which Sikar will become self-reliant in electricity, “Under this project, rooftop solar plants will be installed and AVVNL is doing door to door survey and AVVNL will also provide subsidy to the vendors. In this project after 20 years households will get free electricity,” added Nirwan.
Kharra said under the program solar plants will be installed on the rooftop of one crore households across the country and Sikar is identified for a pilot project in Rajasthan.
