Winners of global skills competition felicitated
Bhubaneswar: Chief minister Mohan Majhi felicitated winners of the 47th WorldSkills competition with cash rewards on Tuesday at Lok Seva Bhawan.
Amaresh Kumar Sahu, who won a bronze medal in the sustainable energy category, was awarded Rs 25 lakh, while Gedela Akhil, who received a medallion for excellence in water technology, was given Rs 5 lakh.
“The youth are our identity and the foundation of our unwavering faith,” said Majhi.

He added that a roadmap for skill development in Odisha has been prepared.
The chief minister also stressed the need to turn skill development programmes into a movement, ensuring continuous efforts across all fields and at every level.
Sixty participants from the country took part in the WorldSkills competition held in Lyon, France, from Sept 10 to 15, with 15 participants from the state.
The chief minister also felicitated two teachers, Dwiti Chandra Sahu and Santosh Kumar Kar, who received the National Teachers' Award for 2024, at Lok Seva Bhawan.
