Bhubaneswar: Implementation of drone-based technology for monitoring of transmission corridor in the state brought the coveted SKOCH Silver Award in Power & Energy category for the Odisha Power Transmission Corporation Limited (OPTCL) on Monday.
Informing about the development, OPTCL posted on X: “We are thrilled to announce that OPTCL has been honored with the SKOCH Silver Award in the Power & Energy category.

The OPTCL in June last year started implementing the drone-based survey of its transmission corridor to detect the fault lines and take up immediate repair and maintenance work to restore the power supply in any particular area. The drones capture high-resolution RGB and thermal images and videos of every tower and line span from multiple angles. These images provide comprehensive data.
