CHENNAI: To clear extra rush during Pournami festival, Tamil Nadu transport department will be operating special buses connecting Tiruvannamalai with Chennai.
Around 345 buses will be operated along this route from the Kalaignar Centenary Bus Terminus, Kilambakkam, Koyambedu and Madhavaram on Tuesday. Additionally, another 30 air-conditioned seater and sleeper buses will be operated to the temple town.
Also, another 175 special buses will be operated between other cities in Tamil Nadu including Madurai, Salem, Coimbatore, Erode, Tirunelveli and Thoothukudi and Tiruvannamalai on Tuesday, said an official release.

Tickets can be reserved online (www.tnstc.in) or through TNSTC mobile app.
Additional buses will be operated based on demand and a special team has been constituted to monitor operations and avoid congestion at bus stands, the release said.
