Waste management work should be started in all villages by March 2025: CM
Dehradun: Acknowledging the works of state authorities in maintaining cleanliness, chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Tuesday said that the target of starting waste management work in all Uttarakhand villages should be achieved by March 2025.
Dhami said that Uttarakhand is moving ahead with commendable progress in terms of cleanliness. The work of solid and liquid waste management has been completed in more than 9,000 villages.

Plastic waste management units have been established in 77 development blocks.
"Uttarakhand got the distinction of being the fourth ODF state of the country in 2017. So far, toilets have been constructed for more than 5.3 lakh toilet-less families in the state. Apart from this, more than 2600 cleanliness complexes have been constructed," he added.
"The Municipal Corporation has established a cleanliness control room for public to resolve the problems related to cleanliness, which operates round the clock. Also, innovative efforts such as monitoring through CCTV cameras are also being made along with the formation of eight teams to ensure cleanliness," Dhami said, while participating in the "Swachhata Hi Seva-2024 programme" at Parade Ground in Dehradun, on the occasion of PM Narendra Modi's birthday.
He flagged off the cross country marathon race and administered the oath of cleanliness to all the people and also planted saplings in the Parade Ground Pariksha under the "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam" campaign. He also announced the start of "Swachhata Pakhwada" from Tuesday and its first phase would conclude on Oct 2.
