IndiGo’s flight to B’luru suffers tailstrike during takeoff in Delhi
New Delhi: An IndiGo Delhi-Bengaluru flight had a tail strike during take off from IGI Airport on Sept 9. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has grounded the crew operating this flight 6E-6054 on Airbus A321neo (VT-IBI). The aircraft is learnt to have suffered the tail strike during take off, which left significant signs of damage. The same was discovered in Bengaluru when an engineer of the airline was inspecting the aircraft for its next flight.

Data of this flight has been sent to Airbus for assessment, say sources. DGCA is probing this incident.
In a statement about this incident, IndiGo said: "On Sept 9, 2024, an IndiGo A321 was grounded in Bangalore due to a tail strike. The aircraft is currently under maintenance and will be back in operations post necessary repairs. The incident is under investigation."
