New Delhi: A 17-year-old was stabbed to death by a group in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri on Monday. Police said the incident was motivated by a previous altercation between the victim's cousin and the accused person's friend.
Police received the report of the stabbing at 11:32 pm and a team was sent to the spot. They arrived at the scene and transported the injured victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told police that at 10:45 pm, while the victim and two friends were travelling in an e-rickshaw, four boys on two scooters stopped them near Gomti Apartments.
One of the assailants pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, stating that his cousin had beaten their friend. The assailants then fled the scene.
A case was registered under sections 103(1) (
murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Govindpuri police station. One of the juveniles involved has been apprehended and is being interrogated.
