Teen stabbed to death by group in Govindpuri

New Delhi: A 17-year-old was stabbed to death by a group in southeast Delhi's Govindpuri on Monday. Police said the incident was motivated by a previous altercation between the victim's cousin and the accused person's friend.
Police received the report of the stabbing at 11:32 pm and a team was sent to the spot. They arrived at the scene and transported the injured victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Witnesses told police that at 10:45 pm, while the victim and two friends were travelling in an e-rickshaw, four boys on two scooters stopped them near Gomti Apartments.One of the assailants pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim in the chest, stating that his cousin had beaten their friend. The assailants then fled the scene.
A case was registered under sections 103(1) (murder) and 3(5) (common intention) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Govindpuri police station. One of the juveniles involved has been apprehended and is being interrogated.
