Guwahati:
Manipur govt partially revoked internet suspension, which was imposed in five districts of the Imphal valley, even as
curfew entered its third day on Thursday and the situation in the roiled state remained tense.
Miscreants torched a primary health centre at Borobekra in Jiribam district late on Wednesday and cops also reported a gunfight between two groups in the district.
Police said 33 persons, including seven juveniles, were arrested from various places in connection with Tuesday’s violent protests in Imphal, in which several students and policemen were injured.
The police said necessary legal proceedings will be initiated against them and urged the public not to engage in unlawful activities, while cooperating with law enforcement agencies to maintain peace and normalcy.
The govt Thursday said the ban on mobile internet data will persist amid fears of misinformation and rumours through various social media platforms.
