Maoist with Rs 20 lakh bounty, two women naxals held in Telanagana

Rajesh, carrying a ₹20 lakh bounty, joined the Maoists in 1994 and participated in multiple attacks on security forces. HYDERABAD: Kartam Joga alias Rajesh (55), a key member of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Chhattisgarh, was arrested along with two women members at Danvaipeta limits in Cherla by Bhadradri Kothagudem police on Monday. The three Maoists were caught during a tactical vehicle checking by cops and CRPF.
Rajesh carries a reward of ₹20 lakh and is the state committee member and technical department in-charge of South Bastar division.

He joined the CPI (Maoist) in 1994 and has been involved in several attacks on security forces, resulting in the deaths of over 150 cops. The other two were Punem Jogal (20) from Bijapur and M Geetha (43).
Punem joined the Maoists in 2022 and participated in attacks on CRPF camps in Dharmaram, Chintavagu and Pamed as well as Telkuguram CRPF camp during the tactical counter offensive campaign (TCOC) in 2024. Geetha has been working as a sympathiser and courier for the Maoists, cops said. SP B Rohith Raju appealed to the armed cadres to join the mainstream and benefit from rehabilitation process of state govt.
