Jaipur: Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma on Thursday held talks with ministers of the Japan govt and sought the country’s support in facilitating investments in
Rajasthan. The state govt is holding roadshows in Japan for the ‘Rising Rajasthan’ investment summit.
Sharma highlighted key sectors like automotive,
electric vehicles, energy storage, infrastructure, renewable energy, tourism, chemicals and petrochemical, health, education, and skill development where the state needs investments.
He held meetings with Ishii Taku, Parliamentary vice-minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), and Ishibashi Rintaro, mice-minister for Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT).
Besides, the CM-led delegation held a series of one-on-one interactions with the senior officials of leading Japanese firms including Honda Motor Company Ltd, Wafaku Hospitals, Home Care Group, and TOHO Group, among others. Sharma talked about the investment opportunities and potential in the EV sector in the state and suggested that a site for the EV units can be explored in the Jodhpur Pali Marwar Industrial Area (JPMIA).
The officials of the Wafuku Hospital and Home Care Group expressed their interest in setting up a hospital and a Japanese language school in Rajasthan. This is estimated to train about 10,000 people in the next 5-6 years. Earlier in the day, the chief minister paid tribute to the statue of Mahatma Gandhi. Later, the state delegation met officials of the Indian Embassy in Tokyo. Rajasthan will hold a roadshow in Osaka on Friday.
