Jaipur:
Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested the kingpin, accused of running fake call centres in different parts of India, to defraud foreign nationals under the guise of offering them cheaper loans. The kingpin, identified as Mehmood Khan, was on the run since ED had arrested three persons in June 2023 and the fourth person, identified as Rafiq Khan, in March 2024.
“We have arrested the accused, identified as Mehmood Khan, who has emerged as the kingpin in this case on Tuesday. He was taken before a special court dealing with PMLA case, from where we have got a remand of three days. He is the brother of Rafiq Khan, who was arrested earlier,” said a senior officer of ED on condition of anonymity. TNN
