Plea to cancel CM’s bail for foreign visit
Jaipur: A petition has been filed against Rajasthan CM Bhajan Lal Sharma seeking cancellation of bail granted to him in a 2011 communal rioting case being probed by CBI.
A lawyer Thursday filed the application before a sessions court in Jaipur asserting that Sharma is currently travelling outside India without informing court. This is in violation of the terms and conditions of anticipatory bail granted to him on Sept 10, 2013.

The court has scheduled hearing of the case for Sept 24.
The CM is in Japan leading roadshows to attract investments for ‘Rising Rajasthan’ summit scheduled in Dec this year. Early this week, he completed roadshows in South Korea.
Sanwar Mal Chaudhary who filed the application told TOI, “Sharma was granted anticipatory bail by court after he furnished two bail bonds of Rs 50,000 each and a surety bond of Rs 1 lakh. The court had clearly ordered to him that without its prior permission he will not travel outside India.”
He said since the allegations against Sharma come under the category of cognisable offence, any person aware of it can file an application. “Our only prayer is to cancel the bail granted as per 483(3) of CrPC and immediately after this he should be taken into custody,” the lawyer said. The rioting case involved violent dispute over a land in Bharatpur’s Gopalgarh on Sept 14, 2011.
