BJP activists detained while staging rasta roko protest
Mangaluru: Mangaluru City police detained several BJP protesters, including MLA Vedavyas Kamath and MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, during a rasta roko at PVS Circle on Wednesday.
The protest was organised by the Yuva Morcha of the Mangaluru City South BJP to condemn the lack of action against Congress leaders.

During the demonstration, MLA Kamath accused the state govt of using police intimidation to suppress their protest.

He vowed to hold Congress leaders like MLC Ivan D’Souza accountable in court for their anti-national remarks and warned that if lapses in the investigation are proved, the government will not come forward to support police.
Kamath urged law enforcement to act impartially and uphold their duty despite the government’s alleged corruption. Following the protest, police detained BJP leaders, including Dakshina Kannada MP Captain Brijesh Chowta, MLA Kamath, Yuva Morcha district president Nandan Mallya, and others.
