NAVI MUMBAI: Shiv Sena's (Eknath Shinde faction) Navi Mumbai chief coordinator and ex-corporator Kishor Patkar has lend a helping hand to the residents of the Belapur building that collapsed on Saturday early morning, with monetary help of Rs 50,000 to each of the 16 families.

Recently, Patkar had handed over Rs 5 lakhs to the kin of the 20-year-old housemaid Rohini Bote, who had on July 8 lost her one leg as she fainted and fell on the tracks while waiting for a train at CBD-Belapur station.

Patkar had also helped a Navi Mumbai senior photojournalist Nandu Kurne by giving Rs 1 lakhs, after learning that Kurne has been hospitalised for treatment of his heart ailment.
