Patna: In a major reshuffle, the state govt on Saturday transferred altogether 42 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers.
District magistrate-cum-collectors of 12 districts – Bhojpur, Rohtas, Begusarai, Samastipur, Kishanganj, Araria, Madhepura, Sheohar, Jamui, Sheikhpura, Arwal and Lakhisarai – were also transferred, while a 2018-batch IAS officer, Vaibhav Shrivastava, was appointed as the director, Information and Public Relations Department (I&PRD).
Shrivastava will also hold the additional charge of the managing director of the Bihar Samvad Samiti.
Deputy development commissioner, Patna, Tanay Sultania (2017 batch) has been made the new DM of Bhojpur replacing Raj Kumar who has been posted as MD, Comfed. His batchmate Taranjot Singh has been made the new DM of Madhepura, replacing Vijay Prakash Meena, who has been appointed as director, disability, in social welfare department.
State transport commissioner Vishal Raj has been appointed as the new DM of Kishanganj, replacing Tushar Singla who has now been sent to Begusarai in similar capacity, replacing Roshan Kushwaha who has now been made the new DM of Samastipur.
Arif Ahsan has been made new DM of Sheikhpura replacing J Priyadarshini who has now been posted as director land records in the revenue and land reforms department.
Vivek Ranjan Maitrey has been made new DM of Sheohar, replacing Pankaj Kumar (2010-batch) who has been asked to join as the director, primary education, in the education department.
Similarly, Kumar Gaurav has been appointed as new DM of Arwal, replacing Varsha Singh, who has been asked to join as the joint secretary in the urban development and housing department.
