Chatra: The body of an 18-year-old resident of Dumri Kala in Huntergunj block was found hanging from a tree in a nearby forest area on Friday. According to police, Ankit Kumar Gupta had been missing since Wednesday. While collecting cattle fodder, villagers noticed a foul smell and began searching the surrounding area, eventually discovering Ankit's body hanging from a tree.

Initial probe by police suggest that Ankit died by suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Pipradih forest, around 1 km from his home. Huntergunj cops sent the body to Chatra Sadar Hospital for postmortem. Ankit's father Shivan Saw told police that his son had been depressed due to his one-sided love for a girl. The family tried to reason with Ankit, but to no avail. tnn
