Shillong: First Meghalaya Media Meet 2024, themed “Redefining Journalism in the Digital Age”, was organised at a hotel in Shillong. Chief minister Conrad K Sangma and information minister Mazel Ampareen Lyngdoh attended the meet, along with senior officials and media persons, reports Manosh Das.
CM Sangma emphasised recognising journalists’ contributions and the importance of ethical journalism and trust.
Lyngdoh highlighted the need for discussions on ethical responsibility and AI in journalism. Eight senior journalists were felicitated for over three decades of service, each receiving Rs 1 lakh. The event aimed to ensure the media sector thrives ethically and adapts to technological changes.
