Surat: A woman tenant and the house owner came to blows over vacating a rented home in the posh Parle Point area.
A video of owner Jayendra Manavawala and the woman beating each other has gone viral on social media platforms. After the incident, the woman filed a complaint of molestation against Manavawala. On the other hand, Manavawala also filed a complaint against the woman as he suffered an eye injury.
According to details, Manavawala owned an apartment in the Radhe Nagar society where the woman and her friends lived and were asked to vacate. When he reached his house on Sunday morning with an electrician, he found that they had not vacated. When he asked why they had not vacated even though the contract had ended two days ago, a bitter altercation broke out between them. The argument turned violent and both started assaulting each other. The woman’s friend shot a video of the fight. In the video, Manavawala is seen beating the woman.
“We have registered a complaint against Manavawala for assaulting a woman with an intent to outrage her modesty. We have also booked Manavawala as he suffered an eye injury and was hospitalized,” said police.

Umara police have booked Manavawala and three others under relevant sections of BNS.
