Flood-affected persons from the city also joined the event.
The rally participants and party members gathered at Sayaji Nagargruh after which they went to the district collectorate to submit a memorandum. A boat and tubes were also brought to the protest, to mock the recent statement of the Vadodara Municipal Corporation (VMC) standing committee chairman that those in flood-prone areas should keep rescue equipment handy. BJP supporters outside the auditorium claimed the Congress was "politicizing the tragedy instead of working for the people". They said that unlike the allegations made by the Congress, BJP workers had helped them during the flood. A posse of policemen was posted along the route of the rally and near Sayaji Nagargruh.
A large number of personnel were also posted at the district collectorate. A delegation of party members met the district collector and submitted a memorandum.
