N Chandrababu Naidu has announced that the Artificial Intelligence (AI) University will be established in a public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The decision was made during a review meeting on higher education held at the state secretariat on Tuesday.
The proposed AI University is expected to be a game-changer in the field of higher education, providing students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills in the domain of Artificial Intelligence.
The university will be established in collaboration with private partners, ensuring that it has access to the latest technologies, resources, and expertise. During the review meeting, Naidu emphasised the need to bring radical changes in the higher education system and improve academic standards across the state. He expressed concern over the neglect of higher education by the previous YSRCP govt and stressed the importance of bringing the academic sector back on track.
The CM also highlighted the need to strengthen public universities and fill all vacant teaching posts to ensure quality education. He directed officials to take immediate measures to resolve legal tangles and issue notifications for filling backlog posts. In addition to the AI University, Naidu also discussed various other initiatives to improve higher education in the state. These include encouraging national and international private universities and forming committees with specialists to study global best practices, among others.
