Janhvi Kapoor’s Tollywood debut, ‘Devara: Part 1,’ is all set to hit theaters on September 27, and the actress is busy promoting the film with
Jr. NTR,
Saif Ali Khan, and director Koratala Siva. Recently, during an event in Chennai, she left fans shocked with her fluency in Tamil. Now, she has once again proved her linguistic skills by being fluent in Telugu.
In a recent video shared on Instagram by Janhvi, she was heard speaking about her debut and ‘Devara: Part 1’ in Telugu, which won over the internet, leading fans to find similarities with her mother, the late actress
Sridevi.
The translation of her Telugu dialogues in the video goes, “It makes me very happy to see you all showering love on me. I know how important my mother (Sridevi) is to all of you. You all were quite important to my mom and to me as well. I will work very hard to make you all proud, and ‘Devara’ is my first step.”

She shared the video just after the makers had to cancel a pre-release event for the film in Hyderabad. She wrote, “I had hoped to say these things to you personally. However, that wasn't possible this time. Hope to see you all soon. For now, this is from me to you—a short message. See you in theaters on the 27th of September! #Devara."

Her mother, veteran actress Sridevi, held a significant place in the hearts of Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam audiences as she played several memorable roles in these regional languages. One of her fans reacted to Janhvi’s message, saying, “All the best, Jr. Sridevi ji 💙.” Another fan wrote, “I don’t understand all of this, but it reminds me of Sridevi G. I miss her so much, and seeing you embrace tradition makes me really happy. I grew up watching and admiring her, and you remind me of her a bit. I’m glad her legacy continues. Sending lots of love to you! 🫶🏼 But you are your own person at the same time ❤️.”
Janhvi will also share the screen with
Ram Charan in the upcoming Buchi Babu Sana directorial, tentatively titled ‘RC16.’
