Coming out in 2002, Shut Your Mouth did everything right when it comes to impressing all the fans of the franchise. This game was released a few years after the brand split in WWE, and was the predecessor to the popular Know Your Place title.
From arcade-like graphics to following the storyline that happened during the episodes, the game stood out from the rest.

If SmackDown vs RAW 2006 was good, then its sequel was even better. It outdid it’s predecessor by miles and left fans amazed with the gameplay mechanics and the overall feel of the game.
With this title, WWE games finally made their way to Xbox consoles, which can be considered as a landmark in the history of the series. The game featured a new and improved Create-an-Entrance and a General Manager mode, which remains one of the key highlights of the game to date.

3. WWF No Mercy!

WWF No Mercy released in the year 2000, and it brought forth a lot of changes in how developers started approaching WWE games. Released just on the Nintendo 64, this game wasn’t available on any other platforms, making it available to a specific set of players.
Although the graphics that this version comes with isn’t the best, it came with some really polished features that players fell in love with, including a Survival and a Career mode.

2. WWE 2K22

WWE 2K22 is one of the newer games to make it to this list, primarily because of everything that it brought to the table. WWE had no release in 2021 and the 2020 variant wasn’t too great. So, 2K Interactive had a lot of expectations to meet. Despite all the uncertainties surrounding this new title, WWE 2K22 performed extremely well, and set the standard really high for the upcoming wrestling titles.
Although it had some limitations, the beloved General Manager mode made a return along with the Universe mode. Everything that the game had to offer was something that kept players hooked to this title.

1. WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain

It’s no surprise that WWE SmackDown! Here Comes the Pain has dominated the rankings of the best WWE title for a while now. And considering how the game has fared in the community, newer titles will have to bring something really exceptional to the table in order to topple this title from the number 1 spot.
Here Comes the Pain featured the entire Attitude Era crew, and although gameplay was reworked to a certain degree, it still featured the arcade style of wrestling that these games were known for.
