AGARTALA: Expressing serious concern over the situation in Bangladesh, Uttar Pradesh chief minister
Yogi Adityanath on Monday blamed Congress for the partition of India to appease the Muslim League during Independence.
Adityanath along with Tripura chief minister Dr Manik Saha, Loksabha MP, and former chief minister of Tripura, Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharjee, and TPIRA Motha founder and royal scion Pradyot Kishore Debbarman inaugurated the newly built Siddheswari temple at Barkathal of Mohanpur in West Tripura.
While addressing the gathering, UP's chief minister said humanity in Bangladesh is in danger today and it did not happen suddenly. India’s Sanatan philosophy persuaded the holistic development of the universe and all living beings because of the belief – that “Dharma saves you when you save Dharma.”
“Time has come to work united to save your dharma. Once you are safe, you can make others safe and help each other to prosper. India under Prime Minister Modi is working relentlessly to save every Indian and India has now become one of the most developed and prosperous countries in the world,” he observed.
“Indians stood united against the British when they attempted the Division of Bengal in 1905. But four members from the Congress Party and four from the Muslim League with an agreement with Cyril Radcliffe determined the border in 1947, which satisfied no one and infuriated everyone due to this we are still suffering,” Adityanath underlined.
He commented, “Pakistan is a cancer of humanity, it needs surgery and it has already begun. The inhabitants of POK and Baluchistan want to join India now.”
Appreciating the effort of Padma Shri Chittaranjan Maharaj (Debbarma) the sole disciple of Shanti Kali who was killed by armed militants in 1994 for conversion activities of churches, Yogi said, “A good number of residential schools for marginalized tribes across Tripura has been run by Maharaj besides other humanitarian works remembering his Guru.”
He reiterated that the double-engine government in Tripura has established peace and a new horizon of development and advised to work for the prosperity of Hindutva and said, “The day marked a significant moment in the state’s spiritual and cultural revival.”
Tripura, a state with deep historical ties to Hindu traditions, witnessed a wave of religious conversions during the early 1990s, a period when the Left Front government was in power. The transition saw a considerable number of Hindus converting to Christianity, causing concern among Hindu leaders and devotees.
The inauguration of the Siddheswari temple serves as a symbol of the BJP’s renewed efforts to strengthen the Hindu community in the region, emphasising the cultural roots and spiritual heritage of Tripura.
