BAREILLY: A 21-year-old factory worker in UP died after his cousin inserted an air compressor pipe into his rectum. Victim Akash Kumar's cousin, Ravi Kumar, had a "bet" with another co-worker to pull off a prank. When the machine was turned on, the sudden rush of air caused severe internal injuries, leading to Akash's death, police said, adding that Ravi was arrested and charged with "culpable homicide not amounting to murder".
Akash's mother, Prabha Devi, a resident of Civil Lines in
Moradabad, informed cops about the incident. "As soon as Ravi turned on the air button, Akash's intestines got ruptured and he collapsed. He was then taken to a local hospital in Civil Lines, and admitted in ICU," the mother said. As his condition worsened on Friday, Akash, who was the youngest of six siblings, was moved to a medical facility in Delhi, and he died on the way.
Based on the complaint, police in Majhola registered a case against Ravi. SHO (Majhola) Mohit Chaudhary said, "The incident took place on Sept 15. Ravi has been arrested, and Akash's body was sent for postmortem."
This is not the first such incident here. In Oct 2021, Aslam Khan (19), a resident of Madhan under Asmoli limits of Sambhal, died after his colleague, Farhan Khan, jokingly inserted a compressor pump pipe into his private part and filled it with air. It occurred at an export company in Moradabad's Pakbara police limits.
