Bhubaneswar: State govt on Tuesday approved 31 projects worth Rs 4,954 crore which are expected to create around 24,162 jobs. The approvals were given at a high-level meeting chaired by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja.
The projects include mechanical & electrical capital goods, food processing, packaging, apparel & textiles, bio-fuel and green energy equipment, steel, non-metallic mineral products (refractory products), steel (downstream), plastics, food, beverage & allied sectors, agri processing, tourism, power and renewable energy and pharmaceuticals.
The projects will be implemented in Khurda, Bargarh, Subarnapur, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Angul, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Rayagada, Dhenkanal, Puri, Paradip, Koraput, Kendrapada, Mayurbhanj and Sundargarh districts.
Polimiroir India Private Limited will manufacture, coat and service industrial steel rollers at a capacity of 3,000 units per annum, investing Rs 128 crore and generating 200 jobs, a statement read.
It further said Danieli India Limited will establish a manufacturing facility at a cost of Rs 190 crore, which is expected to create 380 jobs, while Parth Electricals and Engineering Private Limited will manufacture electrical equipment at an investment of Rs 51 crore, providing 145 jobs.
In food processing, Bisleri International Private Limited will set up a beverage manufacturing unit at an investment of Rs 95 crore, creating 426 jobs, while Jay Bharat Spices Private Limited will establish a corn starch manufacturing unit, investing Rs 50 crore and generating 200 jobs.
Similarly, GAK Rice Private Ltd will invest Rs 70.15 crore in a modern integrated rice mill, providing 95 jobs. Shalimar Glass Works Private Limited will develop a packaging container glass manufacturing unit, investing Rs 475.54 crore and creating 450 jobs.
FM Denim and Twills Pvt Ltd will establish a denim textile and garments manufacturing unit at an investment of Rs 130 crore, generating 4,500 jobs. Tripathaga Textiles will set up a garments manufacturing unit at Rs 53 crore, providing 1,500 jobs.
