ROB work at VSS Nagar gathers pace
Bhubaneswar: East Coast Railway (ECoR) launched five 36-metre-long, 35-tonne steel girders as a part of the road overbridge (ROB) work at VSS Nagar level crossing on Friday. With this, ECoR assured the ROB work will be completed by Dec.
The task was carried out by the construction wing of ECoR under a well-planned three-hour traffic and overhead equipment (OHE) block.

“Executing such a challenging operation in a busy railway line, especially in Howrah-Chennai main line, one of India’s busiest railway section, required proper planning and coordination,” read ECoR’s official statement.
The ROB is being constructed to replace the level crossing between Bhubaneswar and Mancheswar stations. Once completed, it will improve traffic flow in areas like Mancheswar industrial estate, Chakeisiani, VSS Nagar, Sainik School, Gadakana and Chandrasekharpur. TNN
