New bins placed at Night Food St

Chandigarh: To strengthen waste management in the city’s food joints, Municipal Corporation Chandigarh (MC), in collaboration with the Bhakra Beas Management Board (BBMB), distributed twin litter bins at the Night Food Street, Sector 14.
Gurinder Singh Sodhi, Joint Municipal Commissioner, along with other officials, distributed twin litter bins to the staff in the presence of MC and BBMB officials.The officials also distributed waste segregation awareness pamphlets to educate the staff and visitors at the Night Food Street. Municipal Commissioner Vinay Pratap, stated that every citizen has a role to play in maintaining the cleanliness and sustainability of the city.
Bicycle thieves strike in Mohali
Mohali: The police has urged residents to stay vigilant as bicycle thieves have become active in Mohali and Kharar. According to sources, there has been numerous cases where high-end bicycles have been lifted from gated societies. “The thieves' modus operandi involves nonchalantly entering the premises, utilizing society lifts to access upper floors, and making off with their ill-gotten gains,” said a source. Numerous incidents have been reported across various housing societies in Kharar, Zirakpur, and Derabassi, and some have been captured in CCTVs as well, the source added.

PU holds event on conservation
Chandigarh: The Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, recently held an event to discuss "Indian Knowledge System for Environmental Sustainability and Climate Action." The two-day event was held in partnership with Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi (PSG) and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR). The event was aimed at raising awareness about environmental conservation.
