Pickles by UT’s women SHGs on nat’l platform
Chandigarh: The self-help groups (SHGs) from Chandigarh are presenting vibrant pickles at the World Food India Exhibition, being held at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from September 19-22. This event offers the SHGs an opportunity to display their culinary excellence as part of the Micro Food Processing Udyam Samaroh under the PMFME scheme.

The exhibition features a variety of vegetable pickles, each carefully crafted to represent the rich diversity of Indian cuisine. Attendees have appreciated not only the quality of the food, but also the innovative packaging, which reflects the dedication and artistry of these SHGs.
Joint municipal commissioner Isha Kamboj said, “This initiative not only empowers our self-help groups, but also celebrates the rich culinary heritage of our country. We are proud to provide a platform for these talented individuals to gain recognition and showcase their skills.” This event marks a significant milestone in promoting local enterprises and enhancing the visibility of traditional Indian flavours.
