Chandigarh: The Union ministry of micro, small and medium enterprises,in collaboration with the department of industries, Chandigarh administration, on Wednesday organised the composite awareness workshop and launch of RAMP (Raisingand Accelerating MSME Productivity) here.
The event was organised to raise awareness about variousschemes of the Ministry of MSME and mobilise stakeholders to participate inimplementing the comprehensive strategic investment plan (SIP) under the RAMP programme.
Vinamra Mishra, director, GA&TP, and Ankita Pandey, director,IC&WEC, from the Union ministry of MSME participated in the event. They applaudedChandigarh for being the first UT to receive assistance under the RAMPprogramme. Mishra emphasised the changing landscape of the MSME ecosystemand the ministry’s initiatives for supporting the MSMEs in redressingchallenges such as access to market, credit, technology, greening, andsustainability of the MSMEs.
Ankita Pandey laid stress on the importance of the MSMEecosystem in the Indian economy and stated the contribution of govt’s schemesand interventions like RAMP and ‘Yashaswini’ in promoting the holistic growthand competitiveness of the MSMEs, especially women.
The workshop generated awareness about various sub-schemeslike MSME Green Investment and Financing for Transformation Scheme (MSME GIFTScheme), MSE Scheme for Promotion and Investment in Circular Economy (MSE SPICEScheme), MSE Scheme on ODR for Delayed Payments, MSME Trade Enablement and Marketing(TEAM) Initiative, Udyami Bharat Portal and other efforts supported under RAMPlike TReDS and ESG etc.
The workshop also generated awareness about the existingschemes of the ministry of MSME like the MSME Champions Scheme and NationalSC/ST Hub Scheme etc.
Hargunjit Kaur, secretary, industries, Chandigarh,highlighted the significance of RAMP. “Today’s event represents atransformative initiative in advancing the competence of our MSMEs. Byaddressing critical issues and leveraging modern technologies, we wish tofoster industries in recognition of their tremendous contribution toChandigarh’s economic and demographic growth story,” she said.
