Vijay's Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) has barred members who have consumed alcohol from participating in the party's first state conference to be held on Oct 27. The party has urged attendees to observe proper etiquette and follow road safety measures.
TVK general secretary N Anand insisted members present themselves well. "Cadres have been instructed to be neat and be a role model for others.
They should in no way spoil the image of our leader," a functionary said, quoting Anand. District functionaries have been advised to ensure safety of a woman cadre. They were also instructed to arrange mandapams for members' refreshment en route.
Instructions have been issued to functionaries to strictly follow road safety rules. "Seating arrangements will be made exclusively for disabled people, senior citizens, and women," a functionary said. The party is making elaborate arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of the event on a 183-acre site at Vikravandi in Villupuram district. tnn
