DEHRADUN: A private super-speciality hospital in Dehradun has introduced robotic technology for joint replacement surgeries, offering greater precision and accuracy. Max Super Speciality Hospital said the new system will help preserve natural bone, minimise blood loss, and ensure well-balanced joints.
The robotic system allows surgeons to pre-plan surgeries, assess the patient’s condition, and predict joint stability throughout the range of motion, reducing the risk of implant misalignment.

Hospital officials highlighted the advantages of robotic surgery over traditional methods, including fewer incisions, better outcomes, quicker recovery, and shorter convalescence times. "With this advanced technology, surgeons can operate through a few incisions using a high-resolution 3D vision system, allowing them to view anatomical structures in natural colors," said Dr Sandeep Singh Tanwar, senior vice president of operations and unit head at the hospital.
He added, “We are thrilled to launch the Mako Robotic Surgical System for joint surgeries. This launch underscores our commitment to improving patient outcomes and setting new standards in medical excellence.”
