New Delhi: Two minors were allegedly sexually assaulted in two separate places in south Delhi. In another case, a 14-year-old girl was rescued by her family members from a man who allegedly tried to sexually assault her in southwest Delhi.
In the first case, a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped and harassed by her 48-year-old relative in Hauz Khas on Monday.
Police have identified the accused as her father's brother-in-law. Police said they received a complaint regarding sexual assault, and a case was registered. The accused was promptly arrested following the complaint.
In the second case, a 25-year-old plumber was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl in Sangam Vihar on Sunday. Police said the accused was absconding. The suspect is a resident of Bihar, who worked near the victim's house under a contractor's supervision. Multiple teams have been formed to nab the accused.
In southwest Delhi's Vasant Vihar, family members saved a 14-year-old girl from an attempted sexual assault on Sunday. The girl had just stepped out of her home to use a public toilet when the accused, a 19-year-old boy, lured her to a vacant jhuggi and tried to sexually assault her. Her family members, who were looking for the girl, barged in and saved her. The accused in this case was arrested.
