Gurgaon:
MCG teams on Tuesday removed political party advertisements, including hoardings, banners, pamphlets and stickers from Sector 15 Part 1, Part 2, Patel Nagar, and from autos to adhere to the model code of conduct.
"We conduct frequent meetings with officials from municipal committee, council and panchayat department among other local governing bodies.
Our enforcement teams are working in every zone to remove posters, banners and hoardings from buildings, intersections, electric and street light poles, and other public places. Additionally, slogans and writings on walls are being cleaned," said additional commissioner and MCC nodal officer Balpreet Singh.
Officials said autorickshaws have become a convenient alternative of posters or hoardings, which are often taken down by authorities.
On Sept 16, in compliance with the directions issued by the additional commissioner and MCC nodal officer, the RTA office gathered auto-rickshaws operating in the city at the parking lot near Rajiv Chowk. Political banners and stickers were removed from the vehicles. The drivers were warned not to affix such banners or posters on their vehicles.
