Dibrugarh: Dibrugarh town on Monday registered a maximum temperature of 39.5°C, the highest ever recorded in the month of September. Also, it was the second-highest temperature ever recorded in its history, reports Rajib Dutta.
According to aviation meteorological office at Mohanbari, Dibrugarh recorded its highest temperature of 39.8°C on August 7, 1984 and July 27, 2003, respectively.
On Tuesday, officials from the MET office said that prior to 2024, the maximum temperature in September had never crossed the 38°C-mark in Dibrugarh. However, the state saw a spike in temperature as the 38°C-mark has been breached on four occasions this month.
