Guwahati: Barely a month after a 14-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped and dumped on the roadside by three men at Dhing in
Assam’s Nagaon district, a family has claimed that two men allegedly gang-raped their minor daughter in the same area on Friday.
The latest incident took place when the girl and her brother were returning home after dropping their grandmother.
The accused are currently on the run.
According to police sources, the medical examination of the victim has been conducted, and the reports are awaited to confirm the allegations of rape by the girl’s family. The victim was discharged from hospital after receiving medical assistance.
A case has been registered, and an investigation has been initiated into the matter. Police sources said no injury marks were found on the victim’s body.
The earlier incident had taken place on Aug 22 when the girl was returning home from tuition class. Locals found the girl in a semi-conscious state and rushed her to a nearby hospital.
The motorcycle-borne accused had allegedly forcibly taken the 17-year-old girl to a secluded place and gang-raped her. Locals, who became aware of the incident after hearing her brother’s cries for help, rescued the girl from a nearby location. The girl was immediately taken to a nearby hospital for medical examination.
