Museum eyes longevity of artefacts
Guwahati: Assam state museum has decided to incorporate scientific methods to increase longevity of artefacts, dating back to the 7th century. These artefacts primarily belong to the pre and post-Ahom eras.
The Indira Gandhi National Centre for Arts (IGNCA) has formulated the reorganisation method to ensure that each item is stored and gets a proper display.

Musem director Arindam Baruah stated that the ‘Re-org’ method was developed by the International Centre for the Study of the Preservation and Restoration of Cultural Property (ICCROM) and UNESCO in 2011 to save antique items from being haphazardly stored.
