MP Shettar warns officials for not following protocol
Belagavi: MP Jagadish Shettar warned the officials for not inviting members of parliament to the inauguration of various development projects in Belagavi district. He said it is a violation of protocol and disrespect to the MPs. "If the negligence of officials continues, the issue will be taken up in the Parliament," he warned.
Speaking after chairing a quarterly district development coordination and monitoring committee (DISHA) meeting at the zilla panchayat on Friday, Shettar said before the commencement of any works of central schemes, it is mandatory to bring it to the attention of the Lok Sabha members concerned.

"It has come to my notice that Lok Sabha members were not informed about the events of central schemes organised at Hirebagewadi and Mutaga. Officials should attend meetings equipped with complete information related to their department," he said.
Meanwhile, he asked the officials that every farmer affected by heavy rains in the district should be provided with crop compensation. The joint survey work should be completed and measures should be taken to provide crop relief to the farmers as soon as possible. In the backdrop of the high demand for vegetables and fruits in Belagavi, meetings should be held with farmers and stakeholders of the district to expand the market of vegetables and fruits in Belagavi.
Iranna Kadadi, member Rajya Sabha, alleged that in the district, persons other than public representatives are performing bhumi puja for govt development works. The authorities are allowing them to perform puja.
Before the inauguration of newly constructed govt hospitals, the authorities should ensure that the necessary doctors, staff, and equipment are provided to the public, he said.
Deputy commissioner Mohammad Roshan said that regarding the crop compensation, a joint survey has been completed and the details of the beneficiaries have been submitted to the respective GPs and agriculture centres. The compensation amount would be transferred soon directly to the farmers' bank accounts as per the govt's guidelines.
ZP CEO Rahul Shinde, Chikkodi MP Priyanka Jarkiholi, MLA Raju (Asif) Seth, Vitthal Halagekar, and the officials were present.
